Finally. Find a fenced rental near you.

The one filter Airbnb doesn’t have. We built it.

Search 700+ vacation rentals across the US — every one confirmed to have a fenced yard, personally reviewed by a human, not crawled with AI.

“Pet-friendly” wasn’t built for your dog. Cohabit is.

We’re focused on the dogs most filters leave behind: reactive dogs, bully breeds, large dogs, and multi-dog households.

Cohabit Destinations are deep dives on what actually matters to dog travelers: leash laws, BSL status, trail widths, fenced property availability, neighborhood trigger mapping, and emergency vet access. Not "pet-friendly" in the fine print. Actually built for dogs. We're expanding region by region

WeDig™

The best places for reactive dogs, big dogs, bully breeds, and multi-dog households. A member of the Cohabit review pack stayed here overnight, walked the fence line, mapped the neighborhood triggers, and filed a full report. The FenceScore was assessed in person.

Historic Middleburg

The wineries here mean it when they say "dogs welcome" — and the town itself is walkable end-to-end on a leash without running a gauntlet of triggers. An hour from DC, but it feels like a different world. Properties run large, fences run high, and neighbor separation is real.

Shenandoah Valley

A great escape for dogs that need room to breathe. Properties here are rural — large fenced lots, real neighbor separation, mountain views with no HOA in sight. If your dog is reactive or large or both, the Shenandoah Valley's inventory is some of the most forgiving in the region: wide-open space, low foot traffic, and hosts who understand what "fenced yard" actually means.

Catskills & Hudson Valley

The Catskills offer wide-enough trails to give a reactive dog actual breathing room, one of the densest inventories of securely fenced private properties in the region — including our first FenceScore 5/5, We Dig–verified stay — and a cluster of small towns built around exactly the kind of traveler who won't leave their dog behind. No breed restrictions at our verified properties. Bring the pitties.

  • "I’m so glad we found you. We have owned five corgis since 1999, and while I would not consider any of them “safe” off leash, this fourth one, Percy, is . . . something else. She might as well be a Basenji for the flee factor. It really does rule your ability to vacation with peace of mind."

  • "Traveling with dogs as much as we do, “pet-friendly” can mean just about anything… and it’s usually not what you hoped for when you show up. "
